Transportation
There are buses and minibuses operating between the city center and the
dormitories between the hours 07.00 and 24.00.
The Facilities in the Dorms
Computer laboratories are available 24 hours for our students residing at
our dormitories. Internet connection and wired telephone service is available at
Guesthouse. There are separate studying rooms at the dormitories for smokers and
non-smokers. Students can also find rooms where they can study drawing and
design for technical courses. The conveniences at every dormitory include TV
Rooms, food shops and modern kitchens where students are able to cook their own
meals. Automatic dispenser machines provide hot drinks like tea and coffee,
biscuit/crackers and various beverages.
Food & Drink
Inside the
Campus, there are various kinds of meals and price options for students to dine:
Table d'hôte meal is served in the Student Cafeteria at every noon and evening.
Every department has its own student canteen, and those canteens serve between
08:00 and 16:00. The cafes in various buildings usually serve lunch at noon. In
those cafes one can also find soft drinks, coffee, tea, and sandwiches etc.
The canteens that are in dormitories serve between 07.30 and 23.30. In addition
to this, the canteen that is in the 1st Dormitory serves cooked food.
The Shopping Center in the Campus is open between 08.30 and 23.30. In the
Shopping Center restaurants serving cooked food, fast food, pizza, kebab etc.
can be found.
Banks
There are six banks available within METU Campus.
The branches of the banks within the campus are located in and around Çarşı
Shopping Center and they are İş Bankası, Akbank, Vakıflar Bankası, Ziraat
Bankası, Garanti Bankası and Yapı Kredi Bankası. These branches have ATMs
(Automatic Teller Machines) as well.
At the entrances of Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Department
of Civil Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering,
Department of Chemistry and Library, there are ATM of those banks which have a
branch within campus boundaries and ATM of Osmanlı Bank, İnterbank, Pamukbank,
Finansbank and Dışbank which do not have a branch in the campus.
