“Workshop on Networks in Computational Biology 2006” (“NCB 2006”) will be
held at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara. It is devoted to
one of the most fascinating among the currently emerging areas of applied
mathematics and science at all: to computational biology. During the last
decade, it was biology that joined the traditional relation between
mathematics and physics providing a solid foundation of all sciences and,
thus, initiated an enormous momentum in all areas of academic, medical,
economical and social life. After four years of scientific experience
gathered in this domain by the Institute of Applied Mathematics (METU), the
first one of its kind in Turkey, now, together with our companions from the
Partner Institute for Computational Biology in Shanghai, China, jointly
established in 2005 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the German Max-Planck
Gesellschaft, the conference will draw together researchers, teachers, and
practitioners from universities, research institutions, commercial companies,
and the media. We will focus on a topic that is equally important in both,
biology and mathematics: networks. For sharing this experience, for
preparing future collaboration and deepening our friendship and, not to be
forgotten, enjoy Turkish hospitality, we cordially invite you!
